Join artist and educator Tilly Strauss for a rejuvenating 3-hour SPARKSHOP & SHOWCASE in the tranquil countryside, focusing on the powerful energy of the new moon. Set within a rustic 19th-century barn, once a home for draft horses and now a vibrant playhouse for creative projects, you'll be surrounded by inspiration, including an exhibit of Tilly’s captivating moon paintings and evidence of art from a variety of sources.
The Moon, a constant companion in our skies, has guided humanity for millennia, marking seasons of growth, rest, and ritual. We will spend time studying the new moon phase and learn the unique feel related to that phase.
As Tilly shares, "I have lived with the moon all my life. I have danced with her, played with her, and washed away my sorrows under her. She is a friend and as I paint I give voice to her majesty, her beauty and her glory."
In this immersive workshop, you'll tap into this ancient wisdom as you create your very own new moon collage and plant a seed of intention.
First Exercise: Your Unique Expression
Each participant will be given a small circular wood panel to make their own original moon. You'll have access to quality acrylics and a variety of magazines for collage, allowing you to incorporate phrases and imagery of your choice. Your unique expression will honor the moon cycle and reflect where you are at this moment in time.
Second Activity: Seed of Inspiration
Gather a word and plant your intention during this perfect incubating time of the new moon.
Third Moment: Connection and Sisterhood
Beyond the creative process, a unique opportunity for like-minded women to gather in this safe and nurturing environment. We will share stories, reflect, and connect within a supportive community. It's a time to embrace the spirit of sisterhood, healing through fostering a sense of shared experience as you journey together under the guiding light of the new moon. Wine & Snacks will be served.
